Astrapac specialises in heat sealing, including Industrial, Medical, Pharmaceutical, Food, Aeronautical and General industries. With over 45 years of experience in the industry, Astrapac can provide a variety of support for any purpose, with a vast range of heat sealers available.

Grove Design has worked with Astrapac for many years, providing a full design office service including Engineering design and analysis and the handling of the associated documents.

Product

Astrapac, a long standing client, was struggling to secure long-term supply of machined aluminium castings for their hand-held sealer and so they approached Grove Design to generate some new ideas.

Using our experience in prototyping and 3D printing processes, we redesigned the hand-held sealer to suit additive manufacture (3D printing). After a series of prototypes with end user testing, this proved to be a more cost effective route and one which the end customers preferred thanks to the lightness and improved ergonomics.
